Community Service Program at Legacy of Faith Church
This program is designed for individuals seeking to fulfill probation-related service hours or school and work-based service requirements. Welcome to the Community Service Program at Legacy of Faith Church, a proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving our community. Here at Legacy of Faith, we care more about your future than your past mistakes. Our mission is to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where you can complete your service hours while engaging in meaningful community work. The program takes place every Sunday from 9:00 AM to approximately 12:30 PM, with most Sundays concluding by noon. Each Sunday, you will earn a minimum of 4 hours of community service.
All clients of this service are required to work at least one Sunday in order to register and participate in the program. Family members are welcome to join you during the service or the flyer distribution, making this a wonderful opportunity for shared experience. Please ensure that you bring the necessary paperwork and documents with you, including your ID and any relevant documents from the State of Colorado and the Community Service Department.
Our program is designed to foster a spirit of community engagement and service while also providing an opportunity for personal growth and connection with others. Whether you are fulfilling court-mandated hours, school requirements, or work obligations, we are here to support you on your journey.
Program Duties:
As a participant in our Community Service Program, your primary responsibilities will include setting up and tearing down for our Sunday services. This involves loading and unloading chairs, tables, signs, and performing light cleaning tasks. You should be willing and able to carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
From 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, you will be called to complete other duties as assigned. These tasks may include running notes, distributing documents, picking up set items, and other related activities. During this time, you will also be required to sit in the service. Please note that if this arrangement conflicts with your religious beliefs, this program may not be suited for you.
Flyer Distribution:
For those interested, we offer flyer distribution as a secondary option. This task requires a minimum commitment of one hour and involves selecting a route from our distribution map. Participants may bring family members along to assist with this outreach. Attire should be appropriate and professional, as you will be representing Legacy of Faith Church. While engaging with the community, you are not required to speak about faith; simply present yourself as happy and professional while connecting with those you meet.
Additionally, participating in flyer distribution provides a great way to get some exercise while contributing to the program’s completion.
Intern Position:
We also offer intern positions that align with your goals and educational requirements. Depending on the nature of your assignment or degree, we have various programs available for discussion. Examples of these programs include:
Music Department: Opportunities to be a worship leader, play in a band, and work with various musical instruments. In addition, you can engage with our digital PA and lighting systems, and contribute to newly created broadcasting pre-service shows on our streaming platform.
Event Planning: As an intern in event planning, you will work with experienced individuals to create events from start to finish. This role offers hands-on experience in coordinating logistics, managing timelines, and executing successful gatherings.
Pastoral Department: Involvement with pastoral care and community outreach initiatives.
Children's Ministry: Engaging with children and families in our community, providing support, and helping facilitate activities.
Church Security: Participants interested in security will undergo a background check and learn how to prayerfully protect services with God’s guidance. You will be trained in security plans and learn essential methods and procedures for maintaining safety during church events. Working alongside top-tier security professionals, you will gain insight into how to respond effectively in various situations, including the presence of armed guards and emergency protocols. This program emphasizes both proactive and reactive strategies to ensure the well-being of all attendees.
Together, we can discuss your interests and work out a tailored plan that meets your needs. Please note that all programs involving direct work with people or children will require a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of those we serve.
Attendance Policy:
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and illness may prevent you from attending your scheduled service. If you are unable to make it, we kindly request 24-hour notice for medical emergencies or 48-hour notice for any other reason. It is essential that we cover your position in advance to ensure smooth operations.
We look forward to welcoming you into our Community Service Program. If you have any questions or need assistance with the next steps, please do not hesitate to reach out. Remember, this is a chance to work toward a brighter future!
